Gear Sales
If you've rented gear a few times, you've probably noticed that the costs add up. Owning your own set of equipment is full of advantages... most importantly the gear is YOURS; You know it, you're comfortable with it, and it's suited to the type of diving you're doing. This can absolutely make the difference between a great dive trip and a bad one.

Scuba Masks

MASKS, FINS, & SNORKELS

We recommend that all new divers invest in a well-fitted mask, fins, and snorkel. These are the "bare essentials" to any snorkelling or diving trip. With over thirty masks in stock, and our knowledgeable staff here to help, you are certain to find your perfect match.

We'll show you the tricks to finding your best fit, and the different features that make each mask unique.

Often underestimated, fins are like your signature in the water; not only do they allow you to move gracefully with the fishes, but they're also the quickest way to identify you in a group.

We're happy to give you a tour of the different styles of fins available, and the advantages to each.

REGULATORS

If you're used to renting your scuba gear, you've probably noticed that breathing can sometimes be a chore. Imagine no longer having to inhale sharply to get the air to flow, and picture instead simply breathing as you would on land.

High-end regulators, such as the Atomic ST1 and Atomic B2, will deliver optimal breathing performance at any depth, a drastic improvement from the average rental regulator. Combine smooth breathing with a comfort swivel and "comfort cushion" mouthpiece that virtualy eliminates jaw fatigue, and you get a regulator that breathes easily, is comfortable to use and will allow you to relax, reduce air consumption and truly enjoy your dive.

If you're ready to invest in your most important piece of gear, stop by to have a chat with us. We'll show you some of the different features you can look for, and what kind of system will serve you best - whether you're sticking to warm, tropical seas, or looking for adventures in the cooler waters of Ontario. We'll create a personalized quote for your customized package, or enjoy one of our ready-made set-ups.

Once you've reached a decision, our technician will inspect and test every aspect of your system, to ensure that it is ready and safe for your next dive. We'll go over the care and maintainence, to ensure you get a lifetime's worth of diving out of your system.

Your regulator is your life-support system, so why rely on one that is used and abused every day, when you can dive your own? You'll trust it more, because you know it has been properly serviced and maintained.

BCDs

The BCD is another integral part of your scuba system, and, as always, there are several advantages to owning your own: proper fit, comfort, integrated weight systems, and plenty of pockets and attachments for all of your accessories. We encourage you to take the time to find the BCD that fits your body as well as your needs as a diver.

If you do most of your diving while on vacation, there are travel-friendly BCDs available, such as the Cressi Travelight, which packs small and has minimal impact on your weight allowance.

If you're a hardcore Canadian diver, then something that is more durable and has more weight capacity will be serve you best, like the Bare VooDoo.

Style aside, proper fit is critical to ensure you have the most enjoyable time possible while underwater and at the surface. If you're used to renting, especially ladies, you'll notice the generic fits you are given tend to rise above your shoulders on the surface, and shift position when you are diving. It's not supposed to be this way! We have BCDs that are especially suited to different body types, whether you prefer a jacket or wing-style (back inflated).

We often hear that the best thing about owning your BCD is integrated weights. Get rid of that uncomfortable, shifting weight belt in favour of a quick-release system that will not loosen or dig into your hips.

There is a more comfortable way to dive - come try some on and find your perfect BCD.

Diving Computers

COMPUTERS

Just like their on-land counterparts, diving computers have become a must-have feature in any diver's kit. They make planning a breeze, and allow for a more accurate profile during the dive. All the information you'll need is there at a glance - depth, bottom time, Nitrogen saturation, ascent rate, and much more.

All basic computers, such as the popular Suunto Zoop, will accomodate air or Nitrox diving, feature maximum depth, safety stop, and ascent rate alarms. They'll even tell you how long before it's safe to fly! If you're too busy on your dive trip, the built-in dive log will provide you the information you need when you do have time to stop and fill out your logbook.

The features of computers don't stop there; you can completely eliminate a hose and bulky gauges by going with an air-integrated model, some even have a built-in compass, allowing you to be as streamlined as possible.

Don't sacrifice style, either! Many computers, such as the new Suunto D4i and D6i, look and function like watches, so you don't have to switch timepieces at all during your vacation.

Henderson Aqualock Wetsuit System

WETSUITS

Whether you're headed to the warmer waters of the south, or jumping into Ontario's lakes, a wetsuit will protect you from the heat loss caused by surrounding water. We carry an assortment of wetsuit thicknesses and styles, from super-stretchy 3mm suits, to incredibly cozy 7mm suit and core combos.

Unlike the wetsuits of old, or the ones you might've rented before, the selection available today is flexible, form-fitting, and far more comfortable... and they're much easier to put on and take off!

Don't forget a hood and gloves, to prevent heat loss in the extremeties and protect your hands from rough anchor lines.

For those not needing the protection of a full wetsuit, we also have 3mm shorties and super-thin lycra skin ("stinger") suits to protect you from the sun and little stinging critters in the water.

We are proud to be a Buy It Here First dealer for Henderson's new line of Aqua-Lock wetsuits. With welded seams and double-locking wrists and ankles, they outperform any suit of comparable thickness... not to mention they're incredibly easy to put on, and feel like pajamas!

LIGHTS

Even at minimal depths, the brightest sunlight has already lost some of its color... because of this, a light is one of the most useful things a diver can have.

We have a full range of primary night diving lights from Underwater Kinetcis (our favorite is the Light Cannon eLED), with LED, Halogen, and Xenon bulb options. We also have smaller "back-up" lights from Ikelite, ScubaPro, UK, and Intova - they're perfect to see what's hiding underneath that ledge!

CAMERAS

Relive your dive adventures with an underwater camera and housing. If you're going deeper than 30feet, you'll benefit even more with the use of a strobe.

If you already have a digital camera that you know and love, Ikelite offers the convenience of a housing custom-suited to your existing camera. They even accomodate dSLRs! Call for details about ordering your housing today.

For those in the market for a new camera altogether, we have started carrying the SeaLife line of cameras. Our favorite is the DC1400, which has been completely designed with divers in mind. The housing will take you to 200feet, and the large "piano" keys make it easy to change modes and scroll options underwater, even when using thick cold-water gloves. And with four different underwater-specific shooting modes, and HD video, you'll have no problem getting that perfect shot!
