Open Water Diver certification is great, but some diving requires more training than the Open Water Diver course and it's 60-ft limit provides. The Advanced Diver course helps you build more experience, comfort and confidence as a diver- all with the help of your instructors. With an Advanced certification you'll be able to get more out of diving and be prepared for more challenging diving as deep as 100 feet!
There are 3 main parts to getting your Advanced Diver certification:
1. Knowledge Development This part gets you started with the background information you need for your five upcoming Adventure Dives. You study the five selected dives from the Adventures in Diving manual then review these topics with your class and instructor, complete your Knowledge Reviews and prepare for your certification dives.
2. Pool Dive This is what it's all about- diving! At Water Sports we include a free pool refresher with our course. You'll practice skills specific to your five upcoming Adventure Dives as well as general diving and emergency skills. Practicing in the pool means you'll be better prepared and will have more fun during the actual Adventure Dives... practice makes perfect!
3. Advanced Dives To finish the course there are five Advanced Dives. These dives include
Deep Diver and Underwater Navigation as well as three other dives such as Boat Diver, Drift Diver and Wreck Diver. During these dives you increase your confidence and build your scuba skills so that you can become a better diver.
The Diver Diver course is $229.00 and includes:
