Dive Brockville
June 23rd & 24th and August 25th & 26th, 2012

Discover some of the warmest diving in Canada...
On the banks of the St. Lawrence River, Brockville is in the heart of the Thousand Islands and is home to some of the best freshwater diving in the world!

The St. Lawrence is well known for good visibility and warm water. The river's current is always moving the water, eliminating thermoclines. Without the thermoclines the water temperature can actually reach the mid-70's in August. This makes Brockville the ideal place to try out Ontario diving for the first time!

The St. Lawrence is also perfect for drift diving! Just relax and let the current carry you past the river's underwater attractions like shipwrecks from the 1800's, cliffs and overhangs and abundant aquatic life. For a more active dive you can collect old liquor bottles lost overboard by smugglers during the years of prohibition.

Join Water Sports in Brockville for 2 days of exciting dives from $229...
The dive boat is Canadian Coast Guard inspected and approved, is equipped with all required safety equipment and has an experienced captain and crew. All dives will be briefed and guided by Water Sports PADI Professionals. Considering the dive conditions in the St. Lawrence, this trip is suitable only for Advanced Divers or those taking their Advanced Diver course with us.

Please note that the trip in August will include dives in American waters and costs $239. Participants must bring their valid passport with them and must be able to enter the United States.

Dive the Niagara River
July 21st and August 11th, 2012

Experience the Niagara River's history and exhilarating drift dives...
Forming a part of the Canadian-American border, the Niagara River and has long been witness to all aspects of the two countries' relationship, from friendly trade to the War of 1812. It goes without saying, then, that there are many historic items to be found. You can find both military and civilian artifacts like cannon and musket balls, bottles and old clay smoking pipes.

The Niagara River has a strong current (duh!) so it's not only historic, it's exciting! You just need to relax and let the river do all the work. The constantly moving water also means that there's no thermocline so you get consistent temperatures from top-to-bottom! The Niagara River also supports a healthy population of fish, including bass, sturgeon and muskellunge.

Join Water Sports in the Niagara River for $109...
We will be diving from the "Aquaholic", a commercially registered, insured, and Canadian Coast Guard inspected and approved zodiac dive boat. Boat diving on the Niagara River gives us access to areas of the river that are inaccessible from shore, getting us into the deeper, clearer and swifter running channels of the river. There are 2 dives planned for $109..

Although there is a current in the Niagara River, these dives are suitable for certified Open Water Divers. If you want to further your certifications, Water Sports will also be offering the Drift Diver specialty course.

Only a short drive from Toronto, diving the Niagara River makes a great day trip- be home in time for dinner!

Dive Point Traverse
June 9th & 10th and July 7th & 8th, 2012

The Shipwreck Graveyard of Lake Ontario...
The waters between Prince Edward County and the Duck Islands are known as the Shipwreck Graveyard of Lake Ontario. With their numerous shoals and bars, these waters have claimed more than 2/3rds of all ships that have met their fate on Lake Ontario.

These wrecked schooners, barges and steamships that are scattered around Point Traverse provide a living memory of Canada's past. The waters of Lake Ontario are like a time capsule providing a snapshot of history - along with wooden ships, many other items remain like tools, mugs and plates, even jars of preserves are still there.
